The main structure of the book, as perprevious editions, consists of three parts.  The first partfocuses on deterministic scheduling and the related combinatorialproblems.  The second part covers probabilistic scheduling models; inthis part it is assumed that processing times and other problem data arerandom and not known in advance.   The third part deals withscheduling in practice; it covers heuristics that are popular withpractitioners and discusses system design and implementation issues.  All three parts of this new edition havebeen revamped, streamlined, and extended.  The references have beenmade completely up-to-date.
