Using Prochaska's Transtheoretical Stage of Change health education model, the author attempted to determine the effects of multisensory health education to increase knowledge and affect the readiness of unhealthy behaviors among high-risk, alcohol binge drinking college students in an alcohol awareness and prevention program. Although the study's findings did not show significant change on the research participants to change their unhealthy behavior, it did suggest that learning styles could be an instrument in knowledge retention by using repetition of the materials over a period of time. Community health educators, university student services administrators, and substance abuse professionals will find a wealth of research literature review in this book on health education, use of learning styles, health behavioral change, and using alcohol binge drinking prevention as they develop and present health education programming to reduce high-risk drinking among the populations they work with.
