The design, evaluation, and management of furrow irrigation depend on infiltration characteristics. Furrow infiltration parameters affected by surface roughness coefficient. Also, surface roughness is one of the key input parameter in the surface irrigation models which is often expressed in terms of Manning’s roughness coefficient, n. The objectives of this book were to estimate Manning’s n by hydrodynamic model for furrow irrigation, to investigate response of furrow infiltration parameters to roughness coefficient variations in furrows and to determine optimum roughness coefficient in irrigation furrows. Applied methods and findings of this study can be used by irrigation students, engineers and researchers.

Dr. Abolfazl Nasseri has obtained his PhD in irrigation & drainage from Tabriz University, Iran. His research findings were published in both international and national Journals. Now the Author is working as Assistant Professor at the East Azarbaijan Research Center for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Iran.
