The present work is undertaken with a view to harness nanotechnology – as one of the most important Frontier sciences – for development of pigment printing. Synthesis, characterization and application of ultrafine pigment particles form the base of such development. Synthesis involves miniaturization of pigment nanoparticles under a variety of conditions. Ultrasonic is also employed as a substitute for mechanical disintegration of the pigment using the homogenizer stirring. Three pigments are studied to clarify the impact of nature of the nano-sized pigment particles on size, shape and particle distribution of the pigment
