There is a growing demand for underwater wireless communication with the rapid expansion in marine environmental monitoring activities. The ability to effectively communicate underwater has numerous applications for researchers,marine commercial operators and defense organizations. Much underwater instrumentation requires high-speed data rates over a relatively long distance, in terms of kilometers, in a shallow water environment. With this boom in popularity has also come a rise in the need for design of underwater Telemetry system and very little academic literature exists on how to design this new and budding arena. This book, therefore, provides a new metric of success for Underwater communication, supplemental to the more design aspects and analysis that most useful to the designers.
