The book also notes that electricity is only a component in a complementary infrastructure approach to rural development and that effective delivery of electricity in rural areas particularly in vast territories can best be achieved through multiple sources and in a decentralized grid or mini-grid framework. Thus, this book is an interesting piece of academic enterprise, especially for the novelty of its title and themes. It is also a veritable and useful reference for social development policies in poor countries.
