Both genes are member of ABC transporter family, which plays an important role in removing genotoxins and pro inflammatory cytokines from intestines. Detailed description has been been given regarding role of these genes mutation and colorectal cancer risk. Also relation between these gene mutations with risk factors for CRC has also been reported. These genes could serve as future prognostic markers and biomarkers for colorectal cancer.
