Anonymi in Iob commentarius (ed. K. B. Steinhauser, adiuvantibus H. Müller et D. Weber 2006). // In diesem Band wird die erste kritische Edition des anonymen, fälschlich unter dem Namen des Origenes überlieferten In Iob commentarius vorgelegt, einer der umfangreichsten und bedeutendsten arianischen Texte aus dem lateinischen Westen. Der Kommentar, der die ersten Kapitel des Buchs Hiob (1, 1 bis 3, 19) behandelt, ist in sieben Handschriften und in einem von einer heute verlorenen Handschrift abhängigen Frühdruck überliefert. Wie aus Sprache und Stil erschlossen werden kann, geht der Text auf Predigten zurück; diese waren allem Anschein nach von einem arianischen Bischof des späten vierten Jahrhunderts vermutlich in Norditalien während der Karwoche gehalten worden. Die deutlich pastorale Ausrichtung bringt es mit sich, dass der Leser Einblicke in das kulturelle und soziale Umfeld erhält sowie so manches anderweitig nicht belegte Detail aus Liturgie, Exegese, Spiritualität und Volksfrömmigkeit erfährt.
