THE BOOK Development and effects of medicine on society increased since the last century esp. when organ transplantation became successful. Consequently, a shortage of donor organs can be considered. One of the possibilities to solve the problem is the production of xenografts. Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Rainer Paslack ist Soziologe, Philosoph und promovierter Humanbiologe. Er hat zahlreiche Publikationen u. a. zur Ethik und Technikfolgenabschätzung in der Biomedizin vorgelegt, insbesondere zur Gendiagnostik, zur Xenotransplantation und zu Forschungsbiobanken. Er war längere Zeit wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter der Universität Bielefeld (Institut für Technik- und Wissenschaftsforschung), der Europäischen Akademie für Umwelt und Wirtschaft e.V. (Lüneburg) und der Universität Hamburg (BIOGUM). Derzeit ist er freier wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter der Medizinischen Hochschule Hannover (MHH) und der International Academy of Life Sciences (IALS).
