This book is an up-to-date compendium that describes in detail methods for the analysis of complex carbohydrates that occur in biological systems. It has a broad scope including a variety of new methods both for glycans and glycosaminoglycans. The text includes methods for oligosaccharide analysis (glycoprotein detection and blotting, composition, mass spectrometry), profiling (electrophoretic and chromatographic), sequencing using enzymes (electrophoretic, chromatographic and mass spectrometric methods), glycan identification (electrophoretic or chromatographic positional matching), glycan derivatization and the analysis of molecular interactions of glycans and glycosaminoglycans. The format of this text is such that it is suitable for use by glycobiologists including established researchers, research students and workers new to the field, in academic or commercial laboratories.
