In ihrem Spätwerk kehrte sie zu den Darstellungen ihrer Jugend zurück.

Die italienische Malerin CAROL RAMA (1918–2015) war Autodidaktin. 1948 nahm sie erstmals an der Venedig-Biennale teil, 2003 wurde sie dort für ihr Lebenswerk mit dem Goldenen Löwen ausgezeichnet. Später wurden Retrospektiven ihres Werks im Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam oder im New Museum in New York gezeigt.

Later retrospectives of her work were shown at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the New Museum in New York.

Carol Rama is one of the most exciting artistic rediscoveries of the 20th century. Her creative period spanned more than 70 years - tirelessly testing different materials, styles, and media.
