Carol Rama ist eine aufregende künstlerische Wiederentdeckung des 20. Jahrhunderts. In den 1940er-Jahren machte Rama mit der freizügigen und zur damaligen Zeit progressiven Darstellung ihrer Protagonistinnen Furore. In ihrem Spätwerk kehrte sie zu den Darstellungen ihrer Jugend zurück.
Die italienische Malerin CAROL RAMA (1918–2015) war Autodidaktin. 1948 nahm sie erstmals an der Venedig-Biennale teil, 2003 wurde sie dort für ihr Lebenswerk mit dem Goldenen Löwen ausgezeichnet. Später wurden Retrospektiven ihres Werks im Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam oder im New Museum in New York gezeigt.

The Italian painter CAROL RAMA (1918–2015) was self-taught. In 1948, she participated for the first time in the Venice Biennale, and in 2003 she was awarded the Golden Lion there for her life's work. Later retrospectives of her work were shown at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the New Museum in New York.
