Zustand: Wie Neu. Zustandsbeschreibung: leichte Lagerspuren/minor shelfwear. On the Possibility of Common Judgments in Arts and Politics. Edited by Heinz Kimmerle and Henk Oosterling. Elf Beiträge, alle in englischer Sprache. Die Beiträge gehen zurück auf eine internationale Konferenz 1997 in Rotterdam. Sketching a broad inter- and multicultural panorama, eleven contributions investigate the possibility of common judgements in the fields of arts and politics, and also in those of history, religions and worldviews. If no longer interpreted in the sense of transcendentalism, Kant's presupposition of a 'sensus communis' for the validity of aesthetic judgements and - in a pragmatic view - its relevance for ethical and political life gives rise to reflections on what is common or even universal and what is particular in the forenamed fields. - Aus dem Inhalt/Contents: Heinz Kimmerle: Introduction. - Antoon Van den Braembussche: Sensus communis. Clarification of a Kantian Concept on the Way to an Intercultural Dialogue Between Western and Indian Thought. - Gerrit Steunebrink: Sensus communis and Modernity as a Common Horizon. A Contribution to the Theory of Intercultural Communication. - Ryosuke Ohashi: The Japanese "Art Way" (dô). Sensus communis in the Context of the Question of a Non-Westem Concept of Modernity. - Henk Oosterling: A Culture of the ?Inter'. Japanese Notions of "ma" and "basho". - Kwame Gyekye: Sensus communis in Afrikan Political and Moral Thought. An Akan Perspective. - Frank Uyanne: 'Uche ora?: An Igbo View on Sensus communis. - Wim van Bisnbergen: Sensus communis or sensus particularism. A Social-science Comment. - Yasin Ceylan: Islam and Global Dialogue. - Tom Dommisse: Absence in Common. Towards a Post-modern Notion of Sensus communis. - Sybrandt van Keulen: The Poetic Community: Kant After Rorty. - Cornée Jacobs: A Literary Community Possessed by Death. About Maurice Blanchot and Marguerite Duras. 185 Seiten, broschiert (Schriften zur Philosophie der Differenz; Band 8/Königshausen & Neumann 2000). Früher EUR 20,50.
