Das Buch dokumentiert diese vielfältigen Projekte und stellt Künstler, Wissenschaftler und "Macher" vor. Dabei ist es selbst ein bibliophiles Kreativprojekt: Der Künstler Matthias Beckmann illustrierte Cover, Kapitel und ein Leporello. Kabarettistin Gerburg Jahnke, Filmemacher Adolf Winkelmann oder die stellvertretende Direktorin des Museum Folkwang, Ute Eskildsen, lieferte Gastbeiträge. Lichtkünstler James Turrell, Starfotograf Jim Rakete und Konzeptkünstler Ottmar Hörl stellten sich wie viele andere dem Interview. Nichts ist eben so elektrisierend wie Kultur! Art and cultural projects nowadays are hardly possible without sponsorship from private enterprise. This is especially true of major events such as European Capital of Culture RUHR.2010. As Main Sponsor of RUHR.2010, utility RWE is promoting a multiplicity of projects under the banner "EnergyCultureRuhr". These include the Ruhr Atoll on Lake Baldeney, the exhibition "A Star Is Born" at the Museum Folkwang, an dinternational dialogue between students and Nobel Prize laureates. This book records these varied projects and introduces artists, scientists and "practitioners". In this role, it has itself became a creative project, dedicated to book lovers. The artist Matthias Beckmann has illustrated the cover, the chapter headings and a picture fold-out. Cabaret artist Gerburg Jahnke, film maker Adolf Winkelmann and the Assistant Director of the Museum Folkwang, Ute Eskildsen, have supllied guest contributions. Artist of light James Turrell, photographer of stars Jim Rakete, concept artist Ottmar Hörl and many others have given interviews. Nothing is more electrifying than culture!
