Results collected from series of experiments on human hand of variable sizes using various sensory instrumentation have been discussed in the book. These requirements can then be mapped directly on the mechanical design of the system. The derived design requirements will lead to further research on developing optimized hand exoskeleton systems. Such devices will hopefully become a reality in our society in the near future to provide more sophisticated interaction with real and virtual environments in haptics, VR and rehabilitation.

The author holds PhD in Robotics from Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) and three Master degrees in various fields of Engineering from Finland, Sweden and Pakistan.
