While the developed world forge ahead with building knowledge societies, African countries are grappling with daunting social, political, economic and infrastructure challenges. This publication is a survey on the few accomplishments in the research sector of the Nigerian economy.

OLATUNJI APAMPA is a graduate of the prestigious University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. He holds a Bachelors degree (honours) in Agricultural Engineering, and Master degree in Information Science from the same institution. His areas of research interest include knowledge management and application of data mining techniques.
