Laurence Rasti hat im Rahmen der vierten Fotografischen Ermittlung Neuenburg 2023–2024 in Zusammenarbeit mit den Insassen A., D., G., L., M., N., T. und Z. eine eindrückliche Bestandsaufnahme der Situation in einer Strafanstalt geschaffen. Die Arbeiten zeigen in sechs thematischen Schwerpunkten den Alltag innerhalb des Gefängnisses am konkreten Beispiel der Haftanstalt La Promenade in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Faksimile-Reproduktionen ausgewählter Formulare lassen die Verwaltungsroutine ahnen, und die von den Insassen selbst aufgenommen Bilder zeigen die Räume, die sie bewohnen, sowie ihre wenigen Gebrauchsgegenstände.
Der Ansatz verbindet ein hyperrealistisches dokumentarisches Ziel mit einer kritischen Fragestellung, deren Begrifflichkeiten in einem Essay des Geografen Luca Gnaedinger und einem Interview der Fotografin mit der Kunstkuratorin Federica Martini diskutiert werden.

Über die Autorinnen und Autoren
Laurence Rasti , born in 1990, graduated as a photographer and visual artist from ECAL in Lausanne and HEAD – Genève. Her work focuses mainly on Switzerland, where she researches restrictive migration policies and their instruments of control. She also teaches in the photography program at EDHEA in Sion, Switzerland.
Laurence Rasti , geboren 1990, hat an der ECAL in Lausanne und an der HEAD–Genève ihre Studien als Fotografin und bildende Künstlerin abgeschlossen. In ihrer Arbeit konzentriert sie sich hauptsächlich auf die Schweiz, wo sie die restriktive Migrationspolitik und ihre Kontrollinstrumente erforscht. Seit 2020 ist sie zudem Lehrbeauftragte für Fotografie an der EDHEA in Sion.
