Dr.med. Andres Bircher is Dr.med. Maximilian Bircher-Benner's grandson. After medical studies in Zurich and Geneva, ten years as a hospital physician in anesthesiology intensive medicine, emergency surgery, pediatrics, psychosomatics, hematology, geriatrics, psychiatry and psychotherapy, as a specialist at Zurich University Hospitals at senior Level, Training Analysis with Brian Kenny, head physician of a hospital for internal medicine in Zurich and later in the western part of Switzerland. Study and specialist training in TCM and acupuncture in Vienna, neural therapy, manual therapy, classical homeopathy. Training as a German specialist in balneotherapy, climatology and physical medicine. Scientific work in Food energy, dietetics and the effects of regulative medicine. Medical director of the Bircher-Benner Medical Center.

Preface of the 24 th edition: This manual is based on the abundant experience of patients who have been healed by Birchers's order therapy, the earlier editions have also been supplemented by much valuable information from basic research and by clinical results of from rheumatology research. The dietetic section has also been slightly revised without losing the high quality of Birchers's recipe art. The manual gives the patient or person with a weakness the required knowledge and the indispensable practical instructions to enable him to stop the progression of his disease and initiate continous healing steps. The book can be a valuable aid for the doctor practicing holistic treatment, helping him or her to provide patients with instructions for changing their lifestyles towards the order therapy. Since its establishment by Dr.med. Max Oscar Bircher-Benner, the order therapy for rheumatic diseases has been researched for more than one hundres years at the Bircher-Benner clinic and in privat e practices under careful observation of its healing effects.
