FUTURE ist eine Serie von 5–6 Publikationen von Taiyo Onorato & Nico Krebs, die im Laufe der nächsten Jahre bei der Edition Patrick Frey erscheinen werden. Die verschiedenen Kapitel des Projektes werden laufend publiziert, ohne dass ein genauer Inhalts- oder Zeitplan feststeht. Es ist Teil des Konzeptes, dass relativ schnell publiziert und so auch auf direkte Geschehnisse oder Befindlichkeiten reagiert werden kann. Die erste Publikation der FUTURE-Serie erscheint unter dem Titel FUTURE MEMORIES und befasst sich mit der Frage, wie sich unsere Vorstellung von Zukunft in den letzten Dekaden verändert hat, wie sich das auf die Empfindung der Gegenwart auswirkt und wie wir den kommenden Veränderungen gegenüberstehen. Die vor allem aus Archivmaterial von Taiyo Onorato & Nico Krebs neu geschaffenen Bilder sind auch eine materielle Auseinandersetzung damit, dass jede Imagination und Illustration der Zukunft immer eine Collage von Bildern aus der Vergangenheit ist. Mit einer Kombination von analoger Grossformat- Fotografie und verschiedenen digital gesteuerten Laser-Technologien wurde eine Bildwelt kreiert, die mit SciFi-Referenzen operiert und sich assoziativ einer Gefühlswelt annähert, die zwischen dem Optimismus der Kindheit der Autoren und der dystopisch gefärbten Gegenwart hin- und herpendelt.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Taiyo Onorato et Nico Krebs (nés en 1979, respectivement à Zurich et Winterthur, vivent et travaillent à Berlin) développent ensemble depuis 2003 des projets photographiques, vidéo et des installations.

Using a combination of large-format analog photography and various digitally controlled laser technologies, the artists have created a visual world that makes sci-fi allusions and takes an associative approach to an emotional world that swings back and forth between the optimism of the artists' childhood and the dystopianism of the present day and age.
