The rapid development of technology, the widening of the research world and the much-emphasised idea of internationalisation have provided the opportunity for an international examination of the meaning of fair play as well as the associated moral values and norms. It is an increasingly popular topic. All the while, the question arises: why has it become a central issue? Is it because the loss of morals and values in our societies is becoming more and more noticeable? Where are we now in this process? What are young people in Europe, in Kenya or in Malaysia experiencing? What does fair play mean to them? This volume reviews the concept of sport and its evolution on the road to fair play, and traces its development and evolution with a particular focus on its role in education. Values and changes in values, as well as the topic of role modelling are also addressed. The volume is characterised by cultural diversity. The economic, social and socio-cultural background of Kenya, Malaysia, Central and Eastern Europe (Ukraine, Romania, Serbia, Hungary) is presented. For Kenya and Malaysia, the history of the development of sport is examined, as well as the values of education and the role of health education. In the light of this, the attitude of the students surveyed towards fair play may become clearer. The theoretical knowledge of the young people surveyed in the countries studied in relation to the concept and spirit of fair play can be compared.
