Naoko Tosa is an internationally renowned media artist whose works focus on the visualisation of unconsciousness. Taking inspiration from Rimpa, a school of Japanese painting that began in the early Edo period and is characterised by an abundant use of gold and silver amid bold designs, Tosa creates new digital interpretations. Combining an understanding of traditional Japanese essence with her own sensibility regarding programming dynamics, projection mapping, and multidimensional forms, the works collected in this volume represent methodologies of creation that reach beyond the two-dimensional plane. Included also is a new series of works entitled Space Flowers.
