Heterocyclic compounds have been disseminated in nature and their chemistry is one of the most interesting branches of organic chemistry with significant practical and theoretical importance. They are pervasive in many areas of life sciences and technology. As a result, a great deal of research carried out in chemistry is confided to heterocyclic chemistry. Therefore, this background has motivated us to conduct research on nitrogen containing heterocyclic compounds and we have studied the synthetic strategies of the nitrogen containing heterocyclic compounds. This book provides valuable information on the synthesis of some new nitrogen heterocycles carrying interesting moieties like benzimidazoles, quinazolines, selenazoles, pyridines and indoles.

Prof. C.Suresh Reddy, Department of Chemistry, S.V. University Tirupati is a Fellow, A.P. Akademi of Sciences and a recipient of Prof. Lallan Singh Award for Best PG Chemistry Teacher. His research interest is synthesis of bioactive organophosphorus molecules. He has 32 years of research experience, published 1 patent and about 265 research papers.
