Many organizations have been implementing Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) programmes in Kenya with varied results. Many approaches have been adopted to eliminate the practice with donor communities putting substantial amount of money to eradicate the practice with little success. The book contain findings of a study carried out in Migori, Kisii, Meru and Kajiado counties in Kenya where the practice is dominant with sole purpose of evaluating how FGM legislation Act 2011 has assisted in ending the practice. Categorically, the purpose of this book is to investigate effectiveness of FGM Act 2011implementation. More specifically it strives to identify existing legal gaps and other social setbacks towards FGM programming, proposes best practices that can boost its implementation and establish key stakeholders that must work as a team if the legislation is to be implemented successfully. The book also makes recommendations on what need to be done to improve on ACT 2011 implementation.
