Cancer must not more be considered as a “word within a great tale of Edgar Allan Poe”. First as a disease treated by Surgeons, Radiation Therapists and Internists only, when the sixties arrived, Oncology became a separate Medical Specialty, but always working in an interdisciplinary manner with the before-mentioned Medicine areas. I early choose it, for my interest in Molecular Cell biology and General Medicine, where the need-to-know of both is a must. When the new millennium arrived, the bench-to-bedside of the patient showed us the need of a basic cellular knowledge that can be clinically translated for the advances in the treatment of this disease. This brief book describes as separate and also the “marriage” of both sides of this scientific tale: biology and clinics. Cancer is without doubt the most exciting genetic cellular and tissue process in a continuing and geometrical study for its definitively cure. The disease are “diseases” with a common pattern paradigm that are metastases. “Diseases” where current Precision Medicine is trying to solve the main sick genetic parts of it and translate it to a tailored medical treatment for each different Cancer patient.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Le Dr Daniel Gandia est oncologue médical et chercheur clinicien avec plus de 30 ans d'expérience dans le soin des patients. Il a contribué au développement de médicaments anticancéreux comme l'irinotécan à l'Institut Gustave-Roussy à Paris. Il travaille actuellement à Fortrea et vit à Buenos Aires avec sa famille, ses livres et sa musique.
