Inhaltsangabe

The failure rate of new small businesses in both developed and developing economies is high. This is disturbing in developing economies, where small businesses provide employment solution to the majority of the unemployed and reduce poverty. A wide range of initiatives are supported by governments in order to reduce business failure rates through addressing problems in the environment, such as the institution of special loan funds and risk grant models, removing legal obstacles, capacity building of new entrepreneurs through training programs, advisory and support services, and, simplifying government administrative procedures in order to speeding up business operations. These interventions also justify the need for more incubators, incubation programs and mentors to bridge the gaps in order to create job and employment opportunities for the growing population in Africa. Based on this background, this book actively responds to the challenges in the gaps in knowledge with regards to what incubation and incubators are, the processes of incubation, available models, and establishment processes of incubators, among others. It is to ensure sustainable incubation practice and success.
