Ni-Ti is a biomedical alloy that can be processed to exhibit shape memory (SM) and superelastic (SE) properties that are mainly attributed to the stressand the temperature-induced austenitic to martensitic transformation.Ni-Ti alloy was introduced in endodontics two decades ago for the superior elastic compliance it possesses over stainless steel, that allowed for improved access to curved root canals during chemomechanical preparation.The advantages of Ni-Ti alloy and the potential clinical benefits in endodontics have been documented extensively, however, although detailed descriptions of the metallurgy of shape memory alloys are given, limited information is provided on the physical and metallurgical properties of contemporary endodontic instruments.this book include basic information about various phases and manufacturing and various surface treatment on NITI. so the correct knowledge of the file system can be understood.
