Drug analysts play an indirect but very important role in creating the basis for highly efficient drug therapy. The quality of commercially available drugs varies greatly among countries. Due to lack of regulations and poor quality control practices in some countries, the amount of the active ingredient can be inconsistent. The development of simple and cost-effective analytical protocols for Artemisinin and its derivatives in both pure form and in dosage form has become very important in the face of increasing supply and demand for this antimalarial agent.
