Pakistan is one of the countries that remain highly prone to a range of natural disaster challenges including avalanches, cyclones/storms, droughts, earthquakes, epidemics, floods, glacial lake outbursts, landslides, pest attacks, river erosion and tsunami. Off late, terrorism, sectarian violence and internal conflicts have further fuelled such challenges. Under such conditions a developing country like Pakistan is seriously affected even with a disaster of lower magnitude necessitating development of a comprehensive frame work for disasters management. In view of above critically examine existing system for managing disaster challenges to Pakistan with a view to suggest measures for comprehensive response at national level focusing on aspects of coordination, capacity building and legislation.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Imran Ahmed Shah, originaire d'un petit village du Pakistan, province de Sindh (Agra). Il prépare actuellement un doctorat à l'Université des sciences et technologies électroniques de Chine (UESTC). Professeur passionné à l'Université Shah Abdul Latif, Khairpur Mir's Sindh Pakistan dans le département d'administration publique.
