The book aims to present the meaning and importance of Kähina robe (c¿vara) in Therav¿da tradition. According to Vinayapi¿aka, Kähina practice of early Sägha was just simple monastic act and the monk who spread the Kähina and who rejoice in the Kähina are entitled to enjoy the five Kähina privileges (kathin¿nisäsa). The characteristics of Kähina robe are offering to the Sägha (Säghikad¿na) and the time to offer the Kähina (K¿lad¿na). However, the Kähina robe was allowed by the Lord Buddha for the convenience of the monks in their daily life, mainly for their convenience in their Dhamma tours and used of robes.
