In this work, a performance analysis of various types of wireless networks such as WLAN, WiMAX and UMTS has been done with many applications such as voice, video and ftp, handover analysis is also done in individual networks using OPNET simulator. Simulation results show that the WiMAX network’s performance is good as compared with WLAN and UMTS. WLAN ranked first in maximum throughput and minimum delay followed by WiMAX and UMTS networks.
