Wonsho Woreda lacks capacity to effectively integrate Green Economy Approach in its development planning processes. The total population of Wonsho Woreda is 102,380. The Woreda Agriculture and Early Warning office provides climate related information for the farmer households. The level of private public partnership is at its initial stages though SLMP has started supporting women and youth to establish cooperatives in various income generating schemes such us poultry production, beef fattening, small businesses and activities related to integrated watershed management practices of the selected watershed Kebeles of Wonsho Woreda. The Woreda level planning towards achieving the planned CRGE targets is not adequately done due to capacity and other financial problems. The natural capitals of the Woreda are not properly understood and analyzed while the socio-economic determinants of green growth are not adequately addressed. Agriculture and food, forestry, water, energy and tourism sectors were found to be important for GDP, economic growth in the medium term and green job creation.
