Photometric methods, as the name suggests, use light (photon), to measure something (metric). The main use of photometric methods is present in the quantification of certain samples of substances. A fluorimeter is a laboratory device used to measure fluorescence parameters. In theory, fluorescence is based on the assumption that the photon, when absorbed by the molecule of a substance, excites its electrons, making them jump to higher energy levels.
