From an etymological point of view, the word micro-encapsulation originates from the Greek "mikros" and the Latin "en" and "capsula" which mean "small in a small box". Micro-encapsulation is a process by which an active substance is surrounded or coated with a continuous polymeric material, also called shell. The active substance or core material may be a fiery ground solid, tiny droplet of liquid or gaseous material.

Erkihun Zelalem Liyew completed BSc (Textile Engineering) and MSc (Textile Production). He has 5 years teaching, research, community service experience in the Ethiopian Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology. Biruk Fentahun Adamu is currently doing his PhD (Biomedical Textiles) from Donghua University, China. He is a lecturer at Bahir Dar Univ
