Periodontal diseases including chronic and aggressive periodontitis involves interplay of infectious, host response, environmental and genetic factors. Interleukins plays an important part in pathophysiology of periodontal diseases which ultimately leads to periodontal tissue destruction and tooth loss. Dr. Deepti Chandra is currently working as Assistant Professor in Department of Periodontology, Career Postgraduate Institute of Dental Sciences & Hospital, Lucknow, India. She has done her BDS and MDS (Periodontology) from same institute. She has keen interest in studying diagnostic and therapeutic role of biomarkers in periodontal diseases.
