Nanotechnology is an emerging field with its varied applications in science and technology for the manufacturing of new materials at the nanoscale level. The development of nano-sized metal oxide NPs has attracted considerable attention because of their special properties such as large surface-to-volume ratio, electronic properties and unique optical properties as compared to their bulk counterparts. Further, the properties of these materials are dependent upon crystalline structure, particle size and their shape and surface conditions. These properties are achieved by variety of experimental techniques as used in the synthesis of NPs. Because of the extensive research, metal oxides like zinc oxide (ZnO), zinc sulphide (ZnS), tin oxide (SnO2), indium oxide (In2O3), copper oxide (CuO), cadmiun oxide (CdO) both in pure and doped forms have been investigated in recent years .
