At the beginning of the XXI century the conflicts in human society have not subsided even after the terrible experience of world wars in the last century. The development of technology, information technology, genetic engineering, new ideological movements did not bring humanity any closer to getting rid of conflict. Observations of the destruction of the ecological balance of the planet, of military inventions, of the helplessness of the viral threat lead modern man to search for answers in religious ideas and myth-making, hoping for a miracle. Man begins to be helped by mythology, which can become a means of social orientation of people, as it sets a model for important human actions. Mythology is a special form of collective consciousness, an integral picture of the world, in which elements of scientific, practical, religious, artistic and intuitive knowledge are not separated. Modern mythological concepts become a new historical reality for people living in the reality of a global consumer society. The main conclusions of the work can serve as a basis for the religious studies and philosophic investigation of the problem of modern mythology, as well as for the practical use of religious figures, politicians

A.V. Tolmachev nació en 1964 en Tedzhen, República Socialista Soviética de Turkmenistán. Formación: facultad de tecnología MISIS; facultad de pedagogía y psicología del Instituto Pedagógico Estatal de Moscú n.a. V.I. Lenin; facultad de seguros del NIFI; facultad de derecho de la MSU Lomonosov; facultad de filosofía y teología de la Iglesia Ortodoxa Rusa de San Juan Evangelista. Doctor en Derecho, Doctor en Teología, aficiones: historia antigua, arqueología, música espiritual y folclórica.
