The purpose of this study was to identify and evaluate the leadership development practices in two evangelical churches in the city of Nairobi. This study explored the vision and mission of the two churches and the roles of church members and pastors. Further, this study investigated the leadership development strategy and the outcome of this strategy in the two churches. The significance of this study sheds light on the leadership development approaches in the two churches. This chapter ends with a statement on delimitations and operational definitions.

I am a born-again Christian since 1983 and a member of Christ is the Answer Ministries (CITAM) since 1992, where I have served in different capacities including leading the Discipleship Ministry, a Married Couples' Care Group, and as an Elder since 1999.
