When we think of communication and its potentials(more than other segments of the human society) an acute need is felt by the younger generation specifically those who study at higher education. Potential transmission and exchange of information is felt as a dire need. Specifically, as students cross the threshold of schooling to go into open world of higher education they need to tap sources, obtain information, exchange it, interact it before they arrive at clear understanding. It starts with the first year of study at the University. The study aimed to find the usage pattern of First Year Students Studying in the Faculty of Family and Community Sciences, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara 2017-2018.

Dr. Shivani Mehta is a Temporary Assistant Professor in the Department of Extension and Communication, Faculty of Family and Community Sciences, The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara. She started her teaching career in 2008 and has also been author of few books. She has published manypapers in renowned journals.
