The aim is to optimize the design using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) by considering key design parameters such as shoulder radius, back shell inclination angle, Mach number, and overall length of the capsule. The study uses simulations in Solid-Works 2022 to observe the aerodynamic performance of the capsule and optimize the design by minimizing drag while adhering to design constraints. The study concludes that effective design optimization is crucial in the development of complex systems, and by employing RSM and considering key design parameters, the performance of the re-entry capsule can be optimized leading to improved processes, products, and overall performance.
