The stimulus produced by the legal requirement to georeference rural properties, demanded by INCRA, is leading companies to make progressive use of geotechnologies, although they are still a long way from making real use of the possibilities arising from these tools.This book evaluates two axes of the system: the agricultural company and the geotechnology consulting company. It shows that the current applications of georeferencing are concentrated on the tax, land and environmental aspects, guiding producers in the implementation of the frameworks required by the legislation and which favour them under the laws in force, avoiding penalties and enabling conditions for land movements, loans and public financing.There is also a market trend towards working with database technology via the internet (clouds). Other applications, such as land use management through remote sensing products and precision cartography, are suggested in the form of charts and maps. It can be seen that geoprocessing, if combined with strategic field visits, becomes a tool with a high potential to contribute to optimising management.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Dr. Cassiane ist Agronomin, MSc Geographie: Fernerkundung und Dr. Bodenkunde. Sie arbeitet auf dem Gebiet der Geowissenschaften, angewandt auf die Überwachung der Landwirtschaft. Dr. Nelson ist Chemiker, MSc Chemie, Dr. Angewandte Physik mit einem Post-Doc in Hygiene und Umwelt. Er arbeitet an der spektroskopischen Analyse von Wasser, Boden und Vegetation durch Fernerkundung.
