This book demonstrates that communitarianism is not just a theoretical lucubration. The author uses communitarian concepts to formulate concrete proposals for real problems afflicting the Latin American world. The problems he attacks are Marxist socialism and illegal immigration to the United States. The discussion of the former focuses on the experience of countries such as Venezuela, overwhelmed by the so-called Socialism of the 21st century, and exposes the poverty of its ideological foundations. The second deals with the precarious situation of the undocumented Latin American population in the US. The author makes an eminently communitarian analysis of the situation and elegantly explains the reasons why a partial amnesty is ethically and legally justified. In addition, the book clarifies and separates the ideas of communitarianism, liberalism, neo-liberalism, libertarianism and socialism. It does so on the basis of facts and well-founded arguments. In this way, this book seeks to equip the politician or public policy maker with a comprehensive communitarian vision of the reality he or she faces, so that he or she can more easily conceive the practical solutions he or she longs for.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
José Alberto Loayza Ojeda è un peruviano che vive negli Stati Uniti dal 1989 e dal 1996 esercita la professione di avvocato processuale nello Utah. José è impegnato nel movimento comunitario da oltre 20 anni. È sposato e ha due figli gemelli. È l'ex presidente fondatore della Camera di Commercio Latino dello Utah.
