The incisions and surgical approaches for the mid-facial skeleton have an utmost importance because of the presence of several vital structures and an important aesthetical value. For approaching directly over the skeleton, the incision should be placed very close to the area of surgical interest, retracting any major anatomical structure in the way and overall providing appropriate access. Damage to any nerve or vessels should be avoided while planning for the placement of an incision.
