Er ist Manager für Sozialpolitik, Dozent, ausgebildeter Geograph und seit über zehn Jahren Professor. Marcus de Souza hat an der Bundesuniversität von Paraná und der Päpstlichen Katholischen Universität von Paraná einen Bachelor- und einen Postgraduiertenabschluss erworben. Sein Forschungsgebiet umfasst verschiedene Themen im Zusammenhang mit Migrationsbewegungen und deren Dynamik.
