This book looks at Risk and Disability from the angle of the impact that hazards of all kinds are likely to have on people with impairments and disabilities, who are more vulnerable to the various natural, technological and social risks than so-called able-bodied people. Risk is the very foundation of human action. It is the concept that underpins the very issue of safety, which is the justification for man's daily actions. Risk is, so to speak, a phenomenon liable to occur and cause human disability (loss of property or person, remediable or irreversible incapacity), particularly in one or more of its physical, physiological, psychological and mental components.Through the conceptual and contextual content covered, the corpus also highlights the importance of the culture of Risk and Disability in the inclusive Development strategies to be promoted for more resilient societies.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Rodrigue Fulbert ZOGNING is a teacher-researcher with a PhD in Geography. Son of a visually impaired Cameroonian, co-founder of the NGO Club des Jeunes Aveugles Réhabilités du Cameroun, he also has over twelve years' professional experience in promoting the disability approach.
