This case described in this book reinforces the diagnostic value of combining detailed clinical observation with neuroimaging in recognizing Angelman syndrome. It also highlights the potential role of lamotrigine and neurotrophic agents in improving seizure control and cognitive function. Importantly, this report marks the first identification of Angelman syndrome in Iraq, underscoring the growing need for genetic and neurodevelopmental diagnostic services in the region.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Aamir Jalal Al-Mosawi is advisor doctor at the National Training and Development Center of the Iraqi Ministry of Health and Baghdad Medical City. He was the Head of Iraq Headquarter of Copernicus Scientists International Panel (2006-October, 2020). He is also member of the advisory council, the International Association of Medical Colleges (IAMC).
