The main laboratories in Brazil use the Mehlich 1 extractor to determine exchangeable potassium in soil. An alternative is the use of multi-element extractant solutions such as 1 mol L¹ ammonium chloride, especially with the modernisation of Brazilian soil analysis laboratories, which have equipment such as ICP-EOS that allows the simultaneous determination of Ca, Mg, K, Na, Al and Mn in a single extraction.

He graduated in Agronomy from the Federal University of Rondônia in 2011. In 2014, he completed his master's degree in Soil Science at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, where he is currently pursuing his doctorate in the same field. He is a professor at the Federal Institute of Rondônia, conducting research on Amazonian soils.
