The book is a research work undertaken by the author leading to the award of Ph.D. Degree in the year 2018. The study is a survey conducted to examine the attitude of the learners with reference to library facilities available for distance learners of the Karnataka State Open University, Karnataka State , INDIA. The learners of various programs in distance education are scattered in different parts, as such all of them cannot use the library facility for the reason best known. Lack of awareness on the facility of library reflects on the attitude of learners. The study focuses mainly on the library resources and services available to distant learners in the University. The findings are statistically analysed to arrive at conclusions & valid suggestions. Library is one of the important support services of students which lure the prospective candidates to join the concerned college. Higher learning institutions have to employ strategies from time to time to increase the infrastructure in the library, which apparently consist of both the personnel and also learning resources including ICT enable services. Since the university library is committed to provide excellent resources.

Dr.M.Gopalswamy is presently working as Deputy Librarian at Karnataka State Open University, Mysore, Karnataka, India. He has published a book & about 30 research articles in several National & International Journals and conferences. He has served more than ten years as Assistant Librarian at Central Coffee Research Institute, Government of India.
