Inhaltsangabe

This book presents a mathematical model for the co-infection dynamics of tuberculosis and malaria using a system of nonlinear differential equations. It analyzes disease transmission through equilibrium and stability studies, including the basic reproduction number and the presence of backward bifurcation, which shows that disease persistence is possible even when the reproduction number is below one. Sensitivity analysis identifies key parameters driving transmission, and real data fitting is used to estimate model parameters. Numerical simulations demonstrate that higher transmission and progression rates increase co-infection, while improved treatment significantly reduces disease burden. The study highlights the need for early detection, effective treatment, and integrated control strategies to reduce and potentially eliminate TB-malaria co-infection.
