This book examines climate change as a critical and evolving determinant of global peace and security. Moving beyond environmental perspectives, it conceptualizes climate change as a "threat multiplier" that intensifies existing political, economic, and social vulnerabilities. Using an interdisciplinary analytical framework, the study explores how climate-related stressors-such as rising temperatures, extreme weather events, resource scarcity, biodiversity loss, and ocean degradation-contribute to conflict, forced migration, geopolitical tensions, and human insecurity. Drawing on a systematic review of academic literature, policy documents, and selected case studies, the book analyzes the implications of climate change for state stability, international relations, military operations, and peacekeeping. It further assesses global, regional, and national responses, highlighting the roles of international organizations, governments, civil society, and defense institutions. The book concludes by proposing integrated mitigation and adaptation strategies to enhance resilience, prevent conflict, and promote sustainable peace under accelerating climate change.
