Inhaltsangabe

Our study aims to examine the functioning of fixed expressions when they are inserted into literary texts. It seeks to analyze the impact of inserting a fixed expression into a specific context, as well as its effect on the form, meaning, and usage of the surrounding text. To this end, we have compiled a corpus consisting of two literary works by the Algerian Francophone writer Yasmina Khadra: *What the Day Owes the Night* and *The Attack*. The choice of this corpus is motivated primarily by the author's well-known tendency to subvert fixed expressions and her desire to break free from the constraints of language. We opted for a three-part structure, beginning with the study of fixed expressions at the discourse level (by selecting the adjectival phrase as the subject of study for the first part, identifying a sample of 48 phrases) and moving on to the study of fixed expressions at the sentence level (by examining proverbs and compiling an exhaustive list: 5 inserted as they originally appeared, 15 variants of the proverb, and 55 potentially proverbial sentences) and concluding with the study of figurative language at the level of the speech situation (by studying the pragmatem).
