Syntactic Analysis of Copy Operation Process of English Spoken in Yola, Adamawa State, Nigeria by Bamanga Aliyu and Abubakar Yusuf investigates the syntactic patterns of repetition in Yola English. Drawing on Noam Chomsky's Minimalist Program, the book demonstrates that repeated linguistic forms are systematic grammatical structures rather than errors. Using qualitative data obtained through natural speech observation, the authors analyze how copy operations occur in verbs, adverbials, and temporal expressions. The findings show that repetition serves functions such as emphasis, clarification, and discourse reinforcement. The study highlights the influence of Fulfulde and Hausa on Yola English and contributes to research on Nigerian English, sociolinguistics, syntax, and language variation in multilingual communities.
